Celebrate the Change of Season
Autumn has come and after the roasting and drenching Sydneysiders have taken in the summer months the sigh of relief at the cooler weather can probably be heard in space.
There has never been a better time to head out into the country side to feast your eyes on the glorious natural beauty of the Southern Highlands and just literally feast on the locally grown delicacies the region has to offer.
Our Southern Highlands Vineyard Helicopter Tour allows you to do all these things – and throws in a scenic flight over Sydney Harbour just for good measure.
If you are keen to experience the urban charms of central Sydney and the serenity of its rural surrounds, Pterodactyl Helicopters day out of town is the answer to your prayers.
This high flying adventure takes you from the iconic sights of the harbour all the way into the heart of the Southern Highlands, to our favourite daytrip destination: Bendooley Estate.
Nestled amongst rolling hills and home to a seriously spectacular vineyard, Bendooley Estate will host you and your lucky plus one for three unforgettable hours and have made it their mission to delight and titillate all your senses.
Pterodactyl Helicopters’ day out includes at three-curse lunch featuring the best seasonal produce the region has to offer, a bottle of Bendooley Estate wine and – just to make sure a good time is had by all – a cellar door wine tasting.
All of these treats – and there will still be enough time to meander through the hills, take some deep breaths, savour the beauty around you and the good company beside you.
Of course, when you charter private helicopter transfer, the destination is only the icing on the cake – the cake itself (the delicious, rich, indulgent, enormous cake) is the journey.
Pterodactyl Helicopters’ takes off from Bankstown airport and our experienced pilots milk the trip to Bendooley for all it’s worth.
First off, you will be treated to a full scenic tour of the Sydney Harbour, circling the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge (wave to the climbers, they always wave back) before setting course for Sydney Head. Because we take a detour along the coastal route, you will get breathtaking vistas of Bondi Beach and Cronulla and cruise along to the Sea Cliff Bridge, the point that marks our turn off towards the Southern Highlands.
The trip from Bankstown to Bendooley Estate takes approximately 50 minutes, our journey home is slightly shorter at about 30 minutes, but by no means less spectacular.
Pterodactyl Helicopters have opted for the scenic inland route for the return flight, so you get to enjoy completely different sights each way – Picton and Camden are particular highlights on the way home.
